What year model is my beetle?

Hi all, have a question for you... I have a second hand beetle shell, doing a full restore. I thought it might be a 1964 but I am not sure as I have noticed some points.

No sun visors, interior lining seal / join near door lock points into middle of car were on my 1967 and 1965 it points to the front of the car. I will post photos. Another point... Rear bumper mounts are different . To my 1967 and my 1965

You've got a standard Beetle shell not a deluxe which is why theres no full headliner, different bumper mounts etc

First 2 digits of the chassis number are 64 so it would be early 65ish model

Image is from unknown, note: the location of the lip that you would put some type of seal or trim for interior . It's pointing to the centre of the car.

Now image of my1965, it's pointing to the front of the car, looks like it can now be used as a second door seal.

All of that is typical of Aussie made poverty spec standard models.

Here is a 67 aussie custom (standard), notice the sunvisors and faux headliner mounting strip pointing to the center.
They originally had some plastic pinch welting over that so it wasnt a sharp edge.
Your shell appears to have been sandblasted, probably why it is missing.

Hi Joel , I thought if it was just a standard model it wouldn't have an interior light, also chrome strips on each side?

They didn;t have an interior light or switches but still had the holes for them just with plastic blanking plugs in there.
As you can probably imagine after 50 years many standards have had interior lights fitted.

Standards before 64 didn;t have the chrome strips on the sides, just a pinstripe but 64 onwards had the metal strips, they just weren't chromed instead painted silver.

I have been told today from the guy I brought it from, that he was told it was a 1963 mod. What you think. It does have the wholes for the chrome strips on the side.
