Fuel system

What do you guys think of this??
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/100805/10002/-1

For my 2165 turbo methanol motor?? Seems like a pretty good package... Or are these the same cheapo holley knock offs you can get for 60 bucks on eBay??

Mick

I'd take a Mallory over Holley or Jegs every time.

Cry once basically Mick....

It will be a return style system, my first instinct was to get the cheapest stuff I could find! You know me! But I'm thinking I don't wanna totally scrimp out on the fuel system and get crap but I am still on a budget believe it or not! Mallory gear is pretty damn expensive Dave, I think I can get a sufficient system without paying out that sort of money....? I just thought this kit seems good value and I would imagine jegs wouldn't put their name on something crap... I mean lets face it, a lot of these pumps look the same and I wouldn't be surprised if they all come from the same place!

Carter pump and Aeromotive reg is a good option to consider.

Reg is for non-return, return regs available.

Check the S/S in the pits to see how many guys use them.

Fuel system isn't something you should skimp on especially on a turbo set up. Get a cheap set up and it doesn't supply right then you'll end up with a large pile of sad parts very quickly!!

That's what I have.... Carter Black Pump with an Aeromotive 13301 FPR.... With 1/2" lines.... I use a marine grade spin-on filter (with 1/2" internal galleries) at the rear and a 10mic Russel pre-filter before the pump up front.... No problems with pressure or flow for me.

Read my thread and learn from my pain.

You can get the Carter here in Oz for less than that, and its a very quiet and reliable pump.. I bought mine from a local auto parts store.

For what it's worth I have a Carter pump and a Mallory reg. More than happy with both.
Fuel delivery is one thing NOT to skimp on.

When you are talking about car parts, some good advice is to choose the best quality parts.
Even the good stuff can fail so you need to reduce the chance of carnage to a minimum.

By all means, once you have the descision made on which item you want,
dont be afraid to shop around for the best price, but dont skimp on quality!
