Anyone know what this is?
Older fella I work with is clearing oiut a bit of his old VW stash (was a VW mechanic in the maitland area '70's.
Anyhow he seems to think this is a mechanism to crank open the front quarter / vent window in bay window kombi, but I think either his desciption is
wrong or my interpretation is wrong.
What yas reckon it is?
Cheers Brendan

The Audi 100 first went on sale in Australia in 1970 and continued until 1976. There was a lull in 1977, then the new 100 model appeared here in 1978,
but was now called the 'Audi 5E' for our market.
For the early models, 1970-73 inclusive, only 282 were sold in Australia according to the FCAI. That's only 70 per year on average.
We published a detailed year-by-year sales history of Audi in Australia in the July 2007 issue of Club VW Sydney's 'Zeitschrift' magazine. You can
download it here:

Phil,
Weren't the 1974/5 Audi 80 Fox models an Australia only version. I think that they had a Passat rear suspension.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

Not sure, haven't seen one in ages. I don't know much about the Euro versions to compare. But the Fox was certainly the only Audi to have ever been
assembled in Australia! (CKD). It took Audi 20 years to break the sales levels set during the Audi Fox years.

Hi
Going from my memory you had to be careful when ordering rear end parts for Foxs, I think Phil is correct they used Passat rear end parts.
