Price Drop - '69 2276cc Beetle

Hey guys,

Not too sure which way I'm going with cars at the moment, so putting my bug out there for any interest there might be!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/russel_coight/IMG_3335_zpsd326fef1.jpg

Sorry don't have any decent photos at the moment, I'll snap some up for people who are keen!

Specs:

MOTOR

USA built Motor (built by Mark Stevenson)
2276cc
48IDF Weber's
044 Heads
10:1 Compression Ratio
FK87
Spitfire Ignition
Deep Sump
Braided Fuel Lines

TRANSMISSION & SUSPENSION

Rancho Freeway Flyer Gearbox
2" Narrowed Beam
Drop Spindles

WHEELS & TIRES

Stockies on front (with 135 tires)
Widened Stockies on rear (with 205 Tires)

BODY

Cut Rear Valance (for easy engine access)
Popped Rear Deck Lid
Was resprayed around Five years ago

RUST SITUATION

Pretty bloody good actually. There is flaking on the valance when you open the decklid, and some on the bonnet, but other than that there is almost nothing! I say almost, as there is some small bits of brown in the spot where the gutter runs down past the door, but it's not structural.

INFO.

I've had a blast building, and driving this car, but I'm at a point where I'm not too sure which way I want to go with automotive pleasures, so I'm seeing if there is any interest in my bug.

So, I've been having some gearbox dramas, so the price has now been dropped accordingly. I'm currently sourcing a new gearbox, but to be honest I'd rather someone else fix it all up as I'm running out of time and money. From the sounds of things it's the diff. Whilst driving, at low speeds it clunks, and at high speed it whirs. At first I thought it was the wheel bearing but it turned out to he much worse! That why I'm dropping the price, but if I get a new gearbox and install it all the price will go back up. For anyone mechanically minded it really is a bargain- the motors still in tip top condition, it's just the box that needs to be swapped out.

It's not perfect, there are blemishes, but I drive it every day, so don't expect a show car! With a little work it could be so much more (nice pair of polished Fuch's and a quick look at some new seats), but as I said, I'm not sure wether I'm ready to commit to that or head in a new direction.

Anyway, I'm chasing offers now of around $10,000 (I added up my receipts the other day and I can assure you, the asking price is well short of my endeavours), so PM me or call me if you're interested!

Hey mate, no quarter mile action as yet, I've never taken it on the track :) as for power, again no dyno figure but I'd guess around 120ish? It'll make more, just needs the manifolds matched to the heads :) haven't had the chance to do that yet :)

I've seen this car several times in the flesh and driven it with Ollie. It's a monster of a car and whoever buys it will have loads of fun. (I know stuff like this always gets said in sale threads, but really, it's a beast of a car and a bargain.)
