Why me!?
On my way to work this afternoon I got to a T junction just around the corner from where I live and could see this old guy further along laying on his
back by his letterbox and looked like he'd had a bit of a fall. As I got closer he looked like he was trying to pull himself up by holding onto the
letterbox. I quickly stopped the car and jumped out telling him to lay still and try not to move. I asked him if he'd had a bit of a fall and he
looked at me strangely then said "No, I'm fixing my letterbox!" I felt so stupid as I ran away as fast as I could,

For a minute I thought you were going to say he had his electricity bill in his hand.

LOL!
Well at least you stopped and checked. I was filling up at a servo at 5:30am a few months ago and after paying, came back to my van and noticed the
guy on the other side of the bowser was laying next to his truck. I thought he was checking a few things underneath, then had a second look and
noticed vomit next to his head. He had passed and whacked his head on the ground.
I got the attendant to call an ambo and was told by triple 0 to make sure he doesn't stop breathing until they get there. I thought "i don't want
to give mouth to mouth at this time of morning". I was there with for about 10 minutes before the ambo showed up and only 1 person out of probably
15-20 filling up their cars at the next bowser came over to see if he was alright or if he needed help. Most just looked and drove off. They'd rather
get to work then save a life. Turns out the guy ended up in hospital for over a week and is now on special meds.

Reminds me of a few years ago working at my brother's place. I was talking to his next door neighbour who said 'that brother of yours was getting
the mail out of his mail box the other day, and there was a snail on it. Instead of just throwing the snail on the ground, he picked it up, looked it
in the eyes, and said "no stupid, lettuce" '
I said, well it is an easy mistake to have made, after all, it is snail mail.

Snails have very poor hearing. To them "Letters" and "Lettuce" sound exactly the same.

Around 1979 I lived in Melbourne's Western suburbs and on the way to work I saw a guy holding a wrench and climbing under his jacked up Vauxhaul
Viva. 2 days later I heard on the radio that someone stopped and found the guy dead. The jack collapsed and crushed his head. Fact is most people
cant be bothered stopping and its a blight on society. It dosent happen where I live, a town of 200 or so people that wave at you as you pass. If you
dont wave they'll remind you when you next meet. Breakdown and there be a queue wating to help you. It's a different lifestyle altogether IMO.

Good on ya for stopping man!
I had an interesting experience in Glen Waverley years back. Sitting at the intersection in the old bug i spotted a car load of kids jump out of a
commodore and beat a middle aged pedestrian unconcious while his wife and young kids looked on in horror, it was really horrible to see. Really tough
guys kicking and stomping a guy who was literally out cold. At that point i pulled an aggressive u turn and came to a screeching handbrake stop right
behind them. At first I didnt get much of a response, i guess they didn't expect much to come out of a cute little aqua coloured beetle. The tone
changed when 130 aggro kilos of club lock swinging wog boy got out of the beetle... they legged it hahaha. Naturally his family was extremely
grateful, and my girlfiend was very impressed
Who knows, maybe i saved his life.
