Got myself a splittie

Hi all, I hope this pic loads,I'm not so good with anything computer related.
Was told this was a 1955 model but looks closer to 60-61.....no fuss as it was for the best price..free!
Looks a lot worse than it is...solid floors, roof, nose. Will need sills, jacking points and passenger dogleg. Drivers door is off but turns out it's only a broken hinge. Rear wheel arches have been radiased but that's no biggee.Looks to be ex PMG (Postie van)...red inside and red under the green.
Just waiting for a newly formed creek to subside (due to recent rain) and then I can bring it home. Haven't owned a split for many years now so I'm plenty stoked. Will be firing the mig up soon.

Yep,all that...another one saved, and a lucky bastard for getting a freebie. Going to hit all the repairs and at the very least karcher off the lichen....dont think the rego boys will like that being left. May leave it's "patina" for a short while but the plans will eventually be to Hotrod it.....already has radiased wheel arches so I may go with that for now....run 5 spokes ,nose down bum up.I have a nice set of Dellorto's that I got from a friendly guy in Itay that will go nicely with the 2 litre that will be going in it.....not sure on colour yet.....got a long way to go before I have to worry about that.
I know some won't dig that idea but each to their own....and it's all just metal right? everything can be reversed....no biggee.
Just some advice if you will......I will obviously be shopping for rust repair sections....have looked into Das Resto Parts, Just Kampers and there is a seller on Ebay ....german autoextras (anyone know of the quality/fit of there product???)....any info of other suppliers would be mighty helpful Thanks.
Hope you like the pic....I love the "just found" photos that you see pop up....can't get enough of them.
Been a lot of years since I owned a spittie...glad to be back.
