T1 steering box bearing availability

Hello all,

After reading a thread recently I decided to dismantle my old OEM steering box for me bug. Currently using a brand new TRW box that even after correct adjustment has play in steering right only.

Anyhow, the old box is in pretty good nick really. Both worm and roller drives show no pitting or gauling and very little wear on the mating surfaces. However, both the brass bushes for the roller drive and the ball bearings for the worm drive need replacing.

I've emailed all the bearing suppliers in Brissy with the old FAG bearing number, 508620A, but wonder if you guys knew if they were available and also where would you look for the brass bushing?
It's a split bush made from brass strip by looks of it that's been rolled. Would need reaming once installed.

Any ideas people? :)

So the local bearing suppliers haven't been very useful hence anyone got an idea where to buy them?

Tried looking at FAG website but bearing code not listed anymore :(
