I have built 1 dozen Subarugears reversed, shortened, 2WD transmissions for a Facebook/Forum only sale.
All these transmissions are low km genuine Subaru gearsets which have been stripped, inspected and any worn parts replaced. Brand new Subarugears
reversed ring and pinions, 2WD Subaspools and Subaflanges are fitted.
These transmissions come with a 6 month warranty against faulty materials or workmanship. All transmissions are push-clutch type TY754 (1998 "8
bolt") or later naturally aspirated gearsets. They are suitable for EJ20, EJ22 and EJ25 naturally aspirated twin cam and quad cam motors. All
transmissions supplied with clutch forks, VSS sensor and wiring, neutral and reverse switches and wiring plus your choise of 100mm bus type
Subaflanges or 108mm Porsche 930 type Subaflanges. Choice of 3.9 or 4.1 final drives.

What do they fit into? Split or Bay? What is the gear pattern? What mods are required to install them?

If you click on the banner in the post you will be taken to the subragears website which has a wealth of information. basically it means you can run a
subra engine and gearbox in a dub :-)

Hey,
I have a 911 engine matched to a 091 gearbox (rebuilt with new gear sets) and fitted to my 1972 bay window. i was wondering how do your gearboxes
measure up to the stock geometry of the vw boxes. i can see from your site that they are installed with differnt brackets, but unsre whether it would
be a matter of removing my 091 and replacing with your gearbox?
basically i dont have any space to move my engine any more rearward so hoping that the subaru g/box is not longer  . also, would the shift rod need modifying?
EDIT: if you have any links to build threads of the buses you show on your site this would be VERY helpful. cheers

Hi ! Our gearboxes end up being the same size as an 091 gearbox (but are 5 speed instead of 4).
To bolt a Porsche engine tto the Subie gearbox you would need to use an adaptor plate and matched fllywheel.
The adaptor plates are 28mm thick to get the spacing correct so this would move your engine back further which as you've said would be a no go.
Shame.
Shift rod just gets a universal joint on it and it couples to the VW shift rod.
I've driven a bay window with one of my 5 speeds and a Subie EZ30 six cylinder instead of the Porsche. Totally transforms it.
Gobs of torque on demand and loves to spin up to the redline.
A lot of our customers in the USA are now getting into the 6 cylinder conversions, particularly in Kombis and Vanagons.

28mm. i'll have to check whether moving it that much would be ok. not sure though as the fan will be close the the engine lid door and the crank
pulley close to the rear chassis member. i would obviously have to change mod the tinware, but it would pull the engine away from the firewall -
which isnt a bad thing as its pretty close.
