Transferring Engine lids??

Hello,
just wondering if any earlier model engine lids would fit on a 61 bug without having to make any modifications?
If so....what year model lids would fit?

cheers :)

I have seen early "W" deck lids on late model cars...

I think they would fit yours..

whats a "W" deck lid??
i like the look of the air vents and the popes nose on the earlier models, so was hoping i could do a little swap....assuming i can even find an earlier model lid hanging out by itself somewhere looking for a home....

Yes any early lid will fit (Pre 67)............but finding a popes nose lid with air vents will be hard as they where only on early factory convertibles.

A W decklid is the one off an oval.
