[SOLD!!] 89 Caravelle Quick it's off to the chop shop!!!
1989 Caravelle, now leaking coolant through the heads/surrounding hoses? Still drives quite well, but needs engine recond and we'd recommend renewing
some of the cooling system:-) 251000kms. 5 speed manual, 7 seater deluxe captain seats.
Body is in fair condition. Interior panel missing on sliding door. Comfy seats, and we'll miss the space Has new alternator, Cv boot/joint. tyres good
We would've loved to fix this baby up properly, but with 4 kids on a tight budget we're gonna let it go. Would suit a VW enthusiast who knows
waterboxers!
Was running great on original engine for a few years, but we didn't keep close enough eye on cooling system, and managed to fry the engine!
So in 2011 we regretfully found a 1.9L eng (couldn't find another 2.1 in a hurry), so definitely would be great to get back to original 2.1 status or
even a Subaru conversion!? .....

I would much rather sell it to an enthusiast than send it to the wreckers.
caravelle is going to need serious money to get it running well and roadworthy. Probably $10k worth of parts and labour, so we are not trying to trick
anyone into believing its a tiny task. On the bright side you will have strong and spacious ride! Missing the size already. And the towbar. and the vw
vibe.
We priced the engine rebuild parts and some cooling system repairs thru gowesty and can pass those emails on if anyone is interested.

gears worked out by halfway home (jeepers those T3 gears are weird).

Yep, same car.
I'm way out of my league with watercooled, After 2 hours looking under the "hood" and answers here regarding the likelihood of difficult/expensive
repairs, it is seeming more and more like it needs to be moved on. Just thought I'd try and trade for something I needed before starting on it
without knowing what I'm doing. Trying to avoid the inevitibility of the chop shop but now on a time budget, also given that it was on here for sale
for 2 months before I grabbed it.
