dash install - gauges help

Hey guys,

I'm looking to put in an original dash in my type 3, I couldn't manage to fit it around the gauges. So I'm assuming you have to remove the gauges.

Is there a trick to un-clipping the back of each gauge? I could't squeeze both tabs into their gaps at the same time... there is hardly any room under the dash area for my hand.

Cheers

It's pretty tight in there for room and hands. Just need to persist or find a smaller hand.

It can also help to remove the speedo cable if possible? I found my original cable to be very short. Also it may help to remove the speedo first and then you can reach the other two through the speedo hole.

get the clock out first, work left to right,as the fuel gauge is the hardest.
Best way undo fuseblock to get to hand up to fuel gauge on right side
