Long weekend? Must be a non-Vic thing.

My weekend was the culmination of two weeks holidays. I HAD planned to get lots of stuff done, but instead I had a couple of stitches put in my
fingers.

I did, however, manage to mow the lawns, half-instal my remote central-locking & alarm in the kombi, built a bunny fence (with Jen's help)
and bought and picked up a 40 Hp Beetle engine.

Maybe I'll get more done on my Xmas holidays.....

My long weekend was very long indeed. It started on friday and have been living it to the full since then. I have worked all but three long weekends
over the last 6 years and now nearly a graduate looking forward to enjoy a few more long weekends to come.

Friday the Dog got a wash before I took both the Baja Boys down to Caves Beach. We did some exploring and visited their Aunty back home. Mrs Bronze
arrived home from work while the wornout boys were catching a catnap.

Saturday we bounced out of bed to go to the Glendale Supercentre for the boys to ride the 'FunFactory' there. As were were the first they
actually got three goes because there was no one around. Next we were off to Williamtown to visit fighter world. Well planned as the mininster of
finances was off to work again. Here we climed all over the jets, had a go at the simulators and had lunch at their cafe. Just as we were about to go
about thirty veteran / vintage (1900-1930) cars turned up for a Lions BBQ lunch. It was cool checking out all these old cars. I was easy to see the
origins of the beetle in some of these. Again we were of home for a sleep through Stockton.

Saturday afternoon when the boss got home I was off to Monkerai (About 100k's NNW) where I was meeting my Dad-in-law to do some work on the block
up there. Enjoyed the hail on the way up and the storms through the evening which limited our stargazing.

Sunday I fixed the taillights on the Dog-O-War (Broken wire) and hammered this old LWB Land Rover up and down the hill side towing two parallel
railway lines to level off the ground. I tell ya what their tough vehicles. Arrived home late stuffed, dusty, and covered in grease.

Monday (Today) was just the best. Woke up late went to the beach and back home in our jammies by 3pm. The four of us went to Caves Beach again for a
swim but it was heaps cold, couldn't stay in for too long. Explored the caves and played in the sand. Met some cool guys from Sydney (Hi guys)
and preached the AVD gospel while we talked about their black 62 ragtop and the Dog which we had just got out of.

Hope you all had a safe weekend and look forward to meeting you at a dubbers long weekend.

Had someone from interstate drop in to the Yarra Valley Visitor Centre Sunday to ask if it was a long week-end in Vic

Said I didn't think so but then I can go into a time warp at the best of times and double checked

I swear driving home from Healesville you could have thought it was a big week-end by the bumper to bumper traffic around the wineries.

Our next one isn't until Cup Day I don't think? |

My short weekend

On Friday night, I hired a bunch of DVDs and had a friend over. She fell asleep on the floor during "Withnail and I". I'm not sure if
that's a good thing.

On Saturday, I geeked out for a bit and wrote 500 words of a short story that I started. Then J invited me over and we watched The Bill and Three
Colors White.

On Sunday, I don't know exactly what happened there, except that I came very close to test driving a Camry Sportivo, but instead checked out my
place and went for dinner at my brothers. Got some new cute animal photos!

How could she fall asleep during 'Withnail and I'? She must have had a hard day at work

Hey I love the dishes in the sink, trying to keep warm using deep heat type stuff and cooking the chicken. Haven't seen it in years but they are
the scenes I remember |

Well what a weekend started my first ever car stereo install. Decided the Kombi needed a sound upgrade as you may have seen in previous posts and from
what work I wanted done it was going to cost me about $250-$300 for installation costs on top of all the gear so I decided to have a crack at it
myself.

So far have put in the rear speakers Pioneer 200W 6x9s (because the camper is not symetrical inside I ended up mounting them on boxes and suspended
them from the roof toward the rear of the Kombi), hooked up the amp Boss 4 channel 1000W - 250W max per channel or 70W RMS (because of the distance
from the battery ended up going and buying some 8 gauge for the power and grounding hookup and a bigger inline fuse), put most of the visible speaker
wire inside of corrugated tubing to tidy it up and installed the head unit as well (JVC CD/tuner with 2 preouts and AUX-IN 3.5 jac on the face panel,
capability to hook up CD stacker and second AUX-IN and remote).

Pretty pleased for my first ever install, can't wipe the smile of my face

Just gotta wait for the front door trims to come back this week so I can throw splits in the front (Sony Xplod splits) and then all will be
complete!!

Sounds good already and the personal MD player hooks into the Aux In on the front of the headunit and sounds great too!!

Once it's all done I will post some pics.

In even more exciting news our youngest girl (9 months old) took her frist crawl today (albeit backwards)!!!

Older one (3 years old) was more than eager to help with the install
