Grub Screw - Adjustable Ball Joint Front End
Hi Guys,
Im fiting an adjustable ball joint front end.
It has a small grub screw to locate the torsion bars in the centre.
I notice that the flat section at the end of the thread on the grub scew meets the torsion bars before the rounded tip engages with the dimple.
Just wondeing if this is an issue.
Im figuring it is about 1/16" short, while the OE ones seem to be the other way round ie the flat section doesnt meet the torsion bar as the rounded
tip fully engages the dimple (when comparing to how an outer end grub scew engages).
Trust this makes sense.

Hi Newt I think I know what you are saying. Isn't there two grub type screws in the center ring?
I cant remember what I did but it took me a while to come up with what the solution was. I think the smaller flat bottom grub is to more or less hold
the ring in the center 90* from where the grub screw is and the other one goes to the outside and is part of the locking mechanism. Or it might be the
other way around.
Have a play and i'm sure you will get it.
Hope that muddled description helps

Yep Thats correct. Its the one on the inside that locates the torsion bars that Im looking at..
Just wondering if the rounded end needs to fully engage the dimple, or if it ok for the grub screw to be firm on the outer edge of the dimple.

If i remember i dont think you even need that small grub screw,really what is it doing.the outside one is holding the centre and the leaves.. i
noticed on my avis adjusters it has this smaller screw also....last time i welded in adjusters i left it out...
