temp gauge hook up
Just wondering where you hook up a temp sender to an EJ20..can't seem to find anywhere to fit the sender other than Ting into a coolant line? Is
there an additional spot on the engine block?

OK so I have googled where to fit an aftermarket temp sender and there are many differing posts, some say there are two spots for a sender, one for
the ECU and another for a temp sender others say it is located near the throttle intake mounted vertically, another one says there is room on the one
sender (the ECU one and there are two wires, green and white) for an after market and the last one says you need to tap a T piece into the coolant
line or the block and weld....I am confused....anyone with an EJ 20 what did you do with the temp set up? I would have thought it was pretty
standard...you know what thought thought LOL....thanks in advance for suggestions/pics/diagrams...Rob

They all have the temp sender in the coolant manifold above #3 but some have 2 senders (one for temp gauge other for ECU) and others only have one
which runs both.
If you got 2 you are laughing just unscrew the stock gauge one and fit the one for you temp gauge in its place.
The only problem you may find is the small lip inside doesnt clear some aftermarket senders, I had to run the drill through mine.
If you only have one which is most later model engines then the easiest way is just get a hose adapter from Autobahn, ebay etc and fit it in the top
hose

Hi
I had a pad on my cross pipe right behind the alternator, I just drilled and tapped it, its next to an existing sensor.
