Hi There,
I had a copy of the Ultra VW mag with "THE PAINTER" on the cover but cant find it. I just need to know his 1/4 mile times and speed. very different car to mine but still interested what his 1776 did.
Thanks

I found nothing about that car but I did find a 1776cc bug running 11.4 on the 1/4.

You could ask on Cal Look Lounge ( http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/board,5.0.html  ), they live for these Gassers over there.
Probably even get to talk to the bloke that built the thing maybe?

You can download electronic copies of back issues, including that one in the newsstand app. About $5.

I don't believe "The Painter" has run 1/4 mile, i think I recall Engle W140 with worked 044

Re; Peter Shattock's car, Ian from WPS built the original 1776cc engine with the car being a real featherweight. The old engine was recently for sale on Cal Look forum, new engine has been touched by the hand of Johannes

I crew for Pete from time to time, a very clever chap thinking well outside the normal box. He designed the rear suspension himself around a Hewland JFR 6 speed sequntial box. Its an all steel car which he drives to and from the track (1hr and 30mins each way)

Currently running a 1796cc JPM (Sweden) built motor on 48 IDA's

There is a new motor in the pipe line which is a 1776cc due to be running Throttle bodies and Injection (again JPM) you can see the heads JPM has done on their facebook page. The new engine should scream past 10,000 RPM.

If You Click Customer Cars and look for the Blue Beetle (Chassis Shop who Built Pete new Suspension):

First weekend out testing the new suspension:

The ratios will be even better this year when the new motor comes he has a short 5th and 6th so it will be even closer and tighter the whole way through the range.
