Hehehehehe!
I'm laughing with you, not at you!

I just replaced the regulator on my 1987 bike, all '80s bikes had regulators that used "the Force" rather than any rules of electrickery that I could see, with one off a late-model R1/R6 (just an idea of what they look like)..........

COOL! Loads of Volts, which I've heard is good, bugger-all heat as part of the process which is also nice, and not '80s tech, so it won't fail on a dark night with no moon on a dirt road in drizzle at 2am.
Like the last one did.

I believe its the way alternators were connected to type 3 engines years ago.. like an accessory??

but the modification I saw on here a few weeks ago was excellent..
It was a new alternator modified to fit into the original generator position..
Someone on here was doing them..

You were the one who mentioned alternators and made the 'bodgy' comment.

Wear the Fox Hat?

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
