carbon and glass fiber. who uses pre-preg?
Just wondering from those who work in the glass and carbon fiber molding industry.
Does anyone use pre-preg and autoclave process?
Just getting an idea on what the market for this is like in Oz?

We use it, but is a nightmare to store properly. Which adds to the cost. Much cheaper to buy parts than make them.

how do you cut it? Do you use a digital cutter or cut by hand?

Generally just by hand, we don't do much and they are usually one off jobs or repairs. I had better point out that it is very very that we do this
type of thing anymore. I would probably go as far as to say we throw more out due to it being off/out off date than we use.

the stuff cost a mint, you have to store it and you only get one chance with the moulding unless you want to patch it.
i have used it in the ADF. and you have to cook it, not like normal fibreglass prep i must say.
lot of work involved, you need the numbers to make it worthwhile. i dont know of anyone who may use it except a yacht builder down our way.
