Welded Spindles?
Has anyone any experience with getting welded spindles approved in Australia? In particular I'd like to get a mendeola front suspension kit approved.
Any ideas or tips? Must have been an issue for others before?

This has been discussed before and was said that welded spindles are not permitted here. I too would love a Mendeola front end, so if you can find
out more about it and get one passed it may make it easier for the rest of us.

I heard they can offer a front end that uses standard spindles. Not sure if thats true or not.

I have looked into it and mendeola does not even have a welding code or heat number for there material, so you will have no information to give to the
engineer, plus the xray and destructive testing that will be required. you can fit standard spindles but the geometry is way off, they changed the
disign when they fabricated there own spindles

My engineer has suggested going to a 911 upright system for performance and adjustability etc. obviously requires a fair bit of fabrication but it
looks absolutely stunning and isn't actually much different to mendeola or the others in terms of pricing but looks pretty amazing, any thoughts from

Just buy a 75 super bug, totlally different to the mendeola, one a macpherson strut and the other is a double wish bone.

Soren, what would you say is a reasonable price to pay for a pair of left and right Australian engineer-approved spindles to suit a Mendeola front
end?
Doesn't matter if they are one piece or two piece or forged or billet, as long as they are engineer approved and with the same angles as the Mendeola
welded ones.
