wiper motor wiring

We have a 65 bug that has been in pieces for 5 odd years being restored. Finally getting to the stage of refitting wiring & wiper motor, but have misplaced ( lost ! ) the notes for which wire went where for the wiper. Have bought a 12v to 6v resistor to wire in as well. Have a wiring diagram but doesn't have wire colours. Would appreciate some help! thanks

Thanks for the link, that sorted out the wiring. I've got an Empi 12v-6v resistor, have hooked 1 end to fuse box & other end to wiper switch but it doesn't work, have I got it wrong? Thanks in advance

I've never used those things so unsure. Got a picture of it or product web link?

I bought the Wolfsburg West 12v armature as this works much better than a resistor.

I know the armature is the way to go, this is just a short term thing to get the beetle on club rego.

Do you have a multimeter? IF so check it is 4ohms. As these are so cheaply made it could be DOA and open circuit.

If it does read 4ohms then really no reason for it not to work. So long as it's inline with the wire to the wiper switch then it should work. With the switch on check between the switch and earth. You should see 8volts.

Somehow missed the reply here. :(

Maybe an order to WW is in order now

Or if you buy some 6V TO22 regulators with 1Amp capacity from RS and put 8 in parallel with each other then that should work too :)
