Fuel tank sender in my 76 beetle
Hi guys,
Can anybody tell me what type of fuel gauge sender I have in my 76 beetle? Is it the float attached to an "arm" or is it a tubular type of
sender?
Thanks for any help.
Regards
Greg

Do you know what the ohm range is?
Is it 0-90 ohms or 10-180?
Regards
Greg

The '76 beetle should be a single float attached to an offset arm, if our two were typical. The one in a vertical tube arrangement was for the type
3 (late type 3 anyway).
Our remaining Definitely original as-fitted 1976 one has:
"37/8 VW 5.76" and
"113919049D" stamped into the inner side of it.
On the outside it just says: "VDO Made in Germany G 003".
(No mention of ohms-range, but maybe that is stamped on rear of the gauge?)
ACE 30 & 40 oils: specifically engineered for your Air Cooled VW
delivered (free del.) throughout Yarra Valley / Ranges, & Gippsland areas. Also ACE 20, 50 & 90.
FOR SALE: ACE 30, 40 etc. Oil formulations & Trade-names.
