'62 Rat
I bought a '62 ages ago and its been sitting under my house, i have no other projects at the moment so thought it might be time to get a start on
this.........Beetles are not my thing, always been into muscle/drag cars....soooo given my lack of skills for anything VW and cant do bodywork at
all!! i thought i might make it a rat..... I have rebuilt the brakes and hubs, it didnt brake to well so installed a brake booster under the rear
seat, it drives and stops but (been researching this) shifts like shit, will be working on that next weekend......its been previosuly (badly) painted
so have no idea what the original colour is but not dont realy care either going to prolly go back to bare metal in some areas I would prefer an
original patina rat but too few and far between and wow they command a decent price once they look ratty. Plan is simple: rat the paint (going to
leave the two tone silver on the side nice and shiny as this is the only part that looks good). blankets and covers for the seats. POR15 or bedliner
the floor interior. fix the dash and thats about it..........
