Off to the USA again this morning
It's tough when you work for yourself , but hell someones gotta do it .
Yep am of to the USA again this morning to head to the Manx Clubs Big Bear 50th anniversary bash , but there's just one little catch
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
As usual as soon as i get there i need to build a Towd AGAIN !!!! (it's a bloody good job i know a thing or two about Tow'ds ) so i'vve got
something to drive , but thats how we roll , as sleep is for the weak aparently .
Joining me on this adventure back to California is Also Josh and Brenden , another couple of regulars in the Qld VW seen .
Anyway will try and put a few progress shots up along the way and have got an Aussie flag with me so there'll be plenty of revving it up the
Americans .

Well sorry not many updates for you all but i'mm back in Oz , but what a trip , and will us 3 ever learn ( hell no ) where would the fun be in that
,although the extra hands of Josh and Brendan did make life easier this year , mabey some of us are getting too old for these crazy builds schedules
So i flew out fri a week ago and laughed my head off when not only was Brad picking me up from the San Diego Airport , but non other than Paul was
already there as of 3 hrs earlier too and Josh and Brendan arrived Mon arvo
So we headed back to Brads barn discussing along the way the plan for the builds and how we were going to make our target of leaving Thur morning for
Big Bear Bear lake which is a 3 drive as not only where we working on the Towd but we were also trying to get Brads Manxster finished , Nate's (
Brads employee ) Glitterbug finished , and Buck's Manxster finished , so all round mahem really , but nothing unusual i can see hehehe
Needless to say we had more than a few 2 am finishes and many laughs .
Come wed night we had the Towd running enough for a drive up Brads street and unfortunatly we'd had to pull the pin on Brad's and Nate's cars so
all was deemed good so with all of us feeling pretty shagged we had an early night and got up at 5 am and finished out the wiring on the Towd .
With that all done and overall the car looking " tough as " we wheeled it out of the shed and fired it up again , and bugger me if the motor didn't
just get a death rattle all of a sudden and stopped , mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what the hell just happened !!!
Well after a brief inspection it was found that the flywheel had come loose and literally fallen of the end of the crank , oops
So with after an hour or so and having 8 dowelled the flywheel all was back together and we were headed for BB , a couple of stops to adjust the
timming on the 1776 and all was running sweet .
Once up at BB the car was quickly surrounded by many an on looker all weekend with many positive comments which was nice .
Anyway , a great week of building with the boys , a great weekend up at the lake , would i do it again , hell yes "it's how we roll "
And yes it makes me feel like sh$t ,why my yellow car has taken 10 plus years and it's still not done

Saw these photos on shop talk a few days ago, Its always funny how the yanks react to building a car that fast. I guess that's what a plan, common
goal and access to all the parts and tools you need will get you. good work guys.
Next time around I want to see it built as a time lapse video over the weekend
