'80s Classics spotto
Whoda thunk it hey? An Australian 80s classic still going strong, as still looking as ungainly as the day it was born!
Yep, the Oz Look Beetle! Complete with all the requirements to suit the "Look", the bumper with integrated rectangular spotlights, "turbo"
mirrors, pop-up sunroof, flared guards, bloody huge whaletail (bigger by far than any pretender Porsche 930), the "Monza" 4-tip exhaust for that
deep satisfying rumble, and finally, yes, the Torana tail lights!
Painted in dark metallic green with a solid black interior to suck all the light out of the world. Bugger me it even had 14" Hotwires!
I also saw a really nice mid-60s Australian Beetle in Ivory with chrome, and a pristine Mk1 Golf, all in one day! I might add it was the first and
only VW of any kind I have seen in months and months out here, hence the wonder of it all.
Geraldton in WA really is the epicentre of.......well, I dunno, something!
