BUGGER !!!
Didn't see a BIG warning light - do you have really good 'broken belt' warning ? It's important.
Looking forward to seeing more from you later.
Cheers, Greg
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Hi Greg,
The car has a 12v fan rather than an engine driven fan so there is a blue warning light for the cooling fan, a red warning light for oil pressure and
the yellow warning light is for the alternator...the alt warning light didn't come on!! but I heard the belt shredding and the oil temp gauge went
off the scale so I knew the dipstick sender was buggered...then I saw the oil smoke and knew the dipstick tube was spitting oil and the game was
up.
Fitting a 911 cooling fan/alternator for the next race.

It will be interesting to see the effect the fan drag has on performance.
Clip is cool, thanks.

I'll be under-driving the 911 fan quite a bit by running a very small bottom pulley, so fingers crossed it'll not sap too much power...It may even
save some weight.

Man I love car. Awsome. I found with my hillclimb bug on the dyno there was about 6hp diff between running a 102mm lower pully and not running a fan
belt on my 1916cc with 911 fan shroud. I was rather suprised. I guess it will depend on where and how your engine makes power.

Thanks Craig
In Friday testing it was wet and the front end had no grip at all so we disconnected the front anti-roll bar and the car came alive. The Sunday race
was looking showery so we left the anti roll bar off...then the track dried, so we ended up racing in the dry with no front anti-roll bar and it
handled better than ever, so my wet setup is now the same as my dry setup!!
These Vdubs make no sense!

I've got my custom made 60mm SCAT crank and most of the bits to make a 1298cc (60x83) motor but we won't see that for a while as i'm taking a break
from racing next year to gather up funds. Next year i'll also be stripping my current car down and rebuilding it in an effort to shed another 55kg
and math the weight of the Minis
How's your build going?
