Window rubbers

hi guys
I have a 59 beetle I brought a Cal rubber kit from Vollks
the rubbers seem very bulky and after 2 hours of trying to get front screen in I gave up
I was wondering if there is another supplier
the rubber on these are so thick
but ive seen pics of std rubber no trim windscreen rubbers and they seem only a thin edge around screen
