Steering box for Right Hand Drive Type 3
Hi there,
I was going to buy an new steering box online but I was told later that it wouldn't work as it was a left hand drive version
Just wondering are there any places that I could still buy a right hand drive version?
Thanks
Pete

All steering boxes for type 3 and non-super Beetles are same LHD and RHD, only the pitman arm changes

I bought a recoed steering box off eBay. A guy in the US occasionally does one and sells them for about 160. Nice unit. OG.
The original pitman arm is all that needed fitting. went straight on.

Hey thanks man,
well this is what I am looking at

They were a little hesitant though, as they weren't sure the arm was going to fit.
Pete.

You might want to look at this. It's the same seller I bought mine off. Fine job he does. Just ask for a shipping quote before you bid if you decide
to go this way. Specs on what will and won't fit are on his ad!
You'll need your pitman arm and the rear half of the clamp that locks the box around the beam. Oh and you'd probably go out and buy some new bolts
to make it all look neato.

I had the option of buying new TRW box but personally I like the OG ones if they've been properly overhauled.
If the link dies then just search for seller bkkaug03
