Rear disc brake conversion.

Will the calipers have enough clearance to fit 14" wheels?

Planning to use EMPI rear brake conversion on IRS suspension.

having been stitched up by john. ill say that there better suppliers. try dasresto or volks or any of the other suppliers.
lets just say that when you buy something at an advertised price it should be that price not 200 bucks more after you get shafted for gst and have the parts shipped in two different lots so it attracts two lots of the most expensive shipping offered by Australia post, when he could of used a courier for all of it and cost me half of what he shipped one part for.
then to have said item start to fail at only 1500 km and be told too bad so sad.
you get the picture of my experience.

EMPI and Messr Sherman are to be steered clear of. Much better stuff out their from Airkewld, CSP, Bugpack and many others.

Das Resto import quality gear from some of the big USA, UK and German manufacturers.

Do a bit of web searching using Google.com and Google.co.uk. By doing this it brings search results from those countries first normally or just do an advanced search with the region set to USA or UK. It'll narrow the field pretty quickly.

Just to add to your experience, after running an early bug Sherman disk kit in the 80's I spoke to him about his wide 5 kit dropped spindle kit and seem to have ended up with a CB wide 5 dropped spindle kit..
I'm more than happy with the CB wide 5 kit as I personally wouldn't run an Empi kit, I'm just perplexed why he sold it to me saying it was his as a mate odered one after seeing mine then sent it back and got his money back then ordered one from CB.

Landfall, contact Cb Performance and ask them the rim size question as they are a quality item regardless of 4 or 5 stud.

The first obvious question is:- Who is John Sherman.

Second comment is that I have checked out nearly all those recommendations and they do not stock/sell 4x130 rear disc combinations.

Vollks, who I have had a lot of success dealing with sell EMPI one's.

CBP told me that freight would be a killer and seemed reluctant. Have had success with dealing with them before though.

Finally, through all the advice the original question has not been answered and therefore I am no wiser that I should even be contemplating buying them at all?

Am grateful for the advice though, especially who to steer clear from.

Speak with Glen Torrens. He does a rear kit 4 x 130 for the rear of T1 VW and I am sure would be more then happy to help. His kits fit under my steel custom made 14" rims and under the 14" jellybeans GT currently runs on his hillclimb car. You can contact him via facebook on his 'GT Beetles' page.
