hi people can onyone tell me if a type 3 engine has the same crank as a 1300-1600 beetle?

Yes the crank is the same only the case is different but can be modified to suit.

The dipstick hole isn't drilled as the dipstick is in the filler tube and the oil pressure line has a blanking plug fitted.These small obstacles can
be overcome fairly easily.
