Nearly There !!!!

After 2 and a half years.................nearly there !! Just got to get the horn to work (without the big white button in the dash hopefully !!), passenger front indicator to work and the wiper motor to stop blowing fuses :grind:

Daughter wants to use it for her wedding car in 2 weeks time !! Told her it was a bit sqeezie but that didn't seem to put her off !

With the wiper fuse blowing check that the wiper spindles are clean greased and rotate freely, this is a pretty big cause for blowing fuses..

It will all be OK in the end, if it's not OK it's not the end!

Re:wedding take out passenger seat and cover (oily) tracks with a piece of matching carpet, gives much better access to larger rear seat and makes exiting easier. Congrats on a job well done. My2c

Cheers, thanks for that guys. I'll check the wiper spindles before I put in the 3rd fuse !!

LUFTMEISTER, my daughter has it all worked out..........I'm driving her and taking her down the isle. She's going to sit in the front seat.......nothing like overworking her father on the day !!!. Good thing there's no big skirt trains or fluffy dresses. Not my girls thing.

I'm going to try to post some before and after photos once I get them all culled out !

OK, looks like Bill's a bit of an imposter !!!
Tell me if I'm wrong but from what I see on the web beetle engine numbers with the 'B' prefix are supposed to be 1600cc......is that correct ?

So, the chrome emblem on the engine cover keeps telling me it's a 1300 !!......script VW1300 emblem !! Looks like the previous owner has either swapped out the original 1300 motor or it's had a rear shunt at sometime and they've replaced the whole engine cover with one from a 1300. I suspect the later.

Can anyone tell me, if this engine number indicates that it's a 1600cc, what type of emblem I'd expect to see on the rear lid ? Is it VW1600 or Volkswagen....................I'd like to get hold of whatever should be there !
