[FS - NSW] 1973 Squareback

Hi guys, I'm thinking of selling my squareback so I thought I would post it up and see if there is any interest. My reason for selling is that I am headed overseas for a while on the 25th of December, and the rego runs out on the 22nd of December. I love the car and am not really that keen on selling it, its my first vw, but with 2 other regos to pay within the month, I cant justify spending the money to rego a 3rd vehicle that I wont be here to drive. I don't really want to let it sit and go out of rego forever... It would be a waste.

So basically what you see is what you get... A 1973 squareback "ratwagen" with the rear windows filled. Its a 1600 twin carb with a manual gearbox. Recent work to the car includes a new starter motor, a rebuilt generator, new hand brake cables, replaced the worn out beam with a good used unit, new ball joints, new shocks and new tyres (145x75r15 front, 185r14LT rear, low kms since fitment). The front rims are stock, the rears are widened with a 14 inch hoop with the offset pushed out... It has a really cool fat/skinny tyre look. It has aftermarket headlights with inbuilt blinkers. It also has a hurst shifter with the trigger reverse lockout thingy... Its really cool, I think its an older original one, its got some patina on it, and looks like it could be made from copper or something.

The car is a bit rough around the edges, but it works with the ratty theme. It is currently my daily driver, it runs really well, I really only drive it around town and to and from work. I had planned to keep it for longer and do some custom work to it, then sell it and move up to that kombi ive always wanted, but it is what it is... There will be other cars ;)

The car is located in Tamworth NSW, and I am chasing around $3500 for it, though I would be somewhat negotiable for a quick sale. PM or call Neil on 0413922144.

Also its probably worth mentioning I might keep the old numberplates, they will go great on that kombi I want next

Thanks.
