stuck tierod

Hi All,

I'm about to put a new front beam in my 56 beetle and therefore need to remove the old one.

I have taken out the tank, uncoupled the steering and loosened the bolts on the tie rods but they are fixed tight and will not budge even with a good wack with a hammer (as good as you can do inside a VW).

I need to get this apart by tomorrow arvo.

Anyone got any good ideas or a tool that could be borrowed (Melbournes East)?

Cheers,

Joel

They are a taper fit. You can use a tie rod fork or something like this

Anyone have a tool that I can borrow / hire to do the job? I have smashed it with a hammer all afternoon from any angle I can could and no luck.
