That's a damn cool looking notch, I have a metal rack that follows the curvature on the roof of a notch or fasty perfectly, it's not a woodslat but
they could be added for desired effect...
Asking $375ono for the rack. It has gutter mount hardware and the four corners can have rubber stoppers or small suction cups...

Am located in Moorbbin VIC so will need to be freighter via the vw network or someone like e-go couriers
or proper roof racks to suit my notch,
