[FS - NSW] 75 Tintop Kombi - sold

Hi,

Regrettably the day has come to sell Lucy my 1975 Baywindow Kombi.

Lucy is my third Kombi and after around 8 months of searching for her I knew I had found one of the good ones. Unfortunately due to my family growing and bank balance not she needs to be sold. My wife and I had many fun times in her but with two kids it’s a little too tight and we’ve decided to move on and buy a caravan.

Her full specs are as below.

Engine:
Genuine VW 040 heads
NOS AS41 case
1776 Mahle pistons and barrels
All built around 20,000kms ago with case savers, NOS oil pump, fully balanced etc
Holley bugspray carb with vacuum port
Vacuum type dizzy with points replacement module
Genuine heat exchangers and NOS genuine muffler. Muffler was fitted less than 500kms ago.
Best of all no oil leaks!

Gearbox:
5 rib. Selects gears fine and never jumps out of gears. Slight bearing whine in all gears under heavy load but nothing to be concerned about in my opinion.

Body:
Full bare metal respray around 7 years ago in Ford Snow White by previous panel beater owner. Have photographic proof of work done for serious buyers.
All window seals were done at this time and are still in excellent condition.
Body is extremely straight and paint shines up really well. The only damage is a small dent on the passenger door and engine cover and the roof rail is slightly bent on the rear right corner.
Rust – there isn’t any nasty rust under the car. The rails, jacking points, floors etc are all solid. The bus as a whole is very very solid which is the main reason I bought her. There is however some bubbles appearing under the paint at the rear wheel arches. Lower doors and one of the body seams on the drivers side. I was planning to sought these and have the bottom sprayed blue but my plans have since changed. None of this has broken the paint and is very minor - refer photos.

Interior:
Leatherette trimmed S14 200SX front seats and matching rock and roll bed. Front seats engineered but rear isn’t. Front seats have retractable belts and rear have new belts from the bus stop.
Floor is carpeted and all doors trims etc are wood lined.
Steering wheel is the nice late bay type in perfect condition.
Dash is complete and painted with additional gauges for oil pressure and temp.
VDO CD player and splits front and rear.

As above I spent a long time looking for Lucy. After purchasing her she has been daily driven by my wife with our kids and hasn’t missed a beat apart from a couple of Kombi hiccups. I’ve never hesitated to do a long trip in her and the oils never gone over 100 degrees on the highway. Generally I sit at 90 but if you want to go faster she certainly will and doesn’t struggle on hills.
I’m a mechanic by trade and have fixed, lubed or adjusted everything a Kombi needs as needed. The oils been changed and screen cleaned, tappets adjusted every 2500kms in my ownership. Also after purchase I fitted a new AGM battery, all tune up parts, generator brushes, regulator, NOS mirrors, spare wheel cover and many other things I’m probably forgetting.

I’ve got the original sales receipt for the car and the full history from myself, and previous owners dating back to around 1995. Unfortunately the original owner’s history isn’t there.
I bought this Kombi thinking it would be with me forever and have treated it as such only using genuine or high quality parts where needed.

Now for the best part – photos.
