Moreton Island - Apparently buggies / bajas not allowed?
Good evening!
Been talking to the lads at work and they invited the Frog and I to a group Moreton Island trip with their 4x4's. However, there was dispute as to
whether dubs / buggies were allowed as the rules are more strict compared to Fraser Island. So much so awd's aren't allowed including Kluger,
xtrail, forester etc.
Does anyone know otherwise? My googling hasn't turned up any results giving the dub the thumbs up for Moreton.
thanks,
Chris.

Speak with QLD Parks and Wildlife service.
They don't let quads and bikes on the island for non residents.
If you get the go ahead from them then you will be fine.

I went there about 12 years ago in my VW syncro with no complaints from anyone.
I got loads of admiring comments and had no issues even with school holiday churned up tracks (except for a stake in my front drivers side tyre which
made for a slow leak and I had a miss-matched spare).
I remember seeing a Baja up the northern end in a parking lot too....
You should have no issues - VW's make the best off-road vehicles!
