68 notch back doors.

Hi all, I've a 68 notch back early rounder body. Over time I've purchased t3 doors and found not all fit. Were doors made specifically for notch backs and or are there early and late door differences?

Notch back doors are notch only as they have a three bolt hinge rather than two bolts as are squares and FB.

Apart from the hinge bolts I don't believe there is any difference other than the door handle for doors up to 67. A 68 or 69 door should be the same as the late body doors including the handle.

Just for reference. Type 3 is not T3.

T3 is a 3rd generation bus

Beetles, Karman Ghia, Country Buggy are a Type 1
Busses are a Type 2
Type 3 are a Type 3 of course
Type 4 is a rarer vehicle and quite interesting.

Busses have generations being T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, and the current T6. The T is based on the word Transporter.

Early squarebacks were also 3 bolt, 68 doors might have the early handle and the plastic door lifter at the top 69 will have the later door handles. take a pic of the og doors on your car (inner and outer handles and)

Is the car IRS? does the fuel flap have remote release or finger hole?

My 68 has swing axle and no fuel flap release (just finger).

69 should have late handles too, IRS and fuel flap release.
