Oil full flow - components
Hey all,
Looking to link up a full flow system and I need a few bits. Preferably local stuff if possible.
1. What 90 degree elbows are people using for a full flow return? Thread is NPT. Or am I better with two 45s?
2. Then there is the hosing - what is most suitable for connecting up the oil filter sandwich plate and cooler?
4. Clamps or whizz bang fittings? Any local suppliers that I should consider?
5. Lastly, Any spin on filters that are readily available locally that people are having success with? Oil pump is 26mm with the berg pressure
relief pump cover.
I'm in Sydney and Appreciate any advice or suggestions from you guys that are old hands to this stuff.
Hus.

Thanks mate, case is drilled and tapped.
I'm looking for suppliers or brands of suitable products. Or even info on what people are running on their setups.

Enzed can make you up nice crimped stainless braided lines. You may need to supply the fittings.
Remote filter head can be easily sourced thru Ebay. Most people seem to like the FRAM HP1 filter but there are much cheaper options available. Do a
search but I think I remember a Passat filter being the right diameter but not as tall so better ground clearance.
Mocal is the only brand name I can think of at this point in time.
Fittings can be whatever you like as you normally have to clearance the tinware a bit for them. Look up RIPSPEED website in the UK. Just as a
reference tool cos they should list all the types of oil lines and fittings available. BURTON performance is another aftermarket site if RIPSPEED have
shrunk their product range.

I dunno how much info you want or need, so I'll throw in some local Oz suppliers just to give you a few ideas. Hose you could just use push-on
single-braid hydraulic hose, get it from any hydraulic supplier in the Yellow Pages that plays with mining/Ag/earthmoving. Some people say that
push-on hose isn't up to par, and that's their decision, but every second farmer I know uses the stuff on 2000psi hydraulics without problems
usually, so you can make your own mind up there.
Anyway, other options not necessarily in the VW world that comes to light..........

It pays to use something like the speed flow hose and fittings, if you have not assembled this type of hose before you could use the push on hose and
fittings, it is rated at 250PSI, just insulate it were it goes between the exhaust.
