72 beetle project
My first beetle project and I thought I would start a new thread here rather than continuing the one in the panel and paint section.
I bought a 72 beetle on a whim with the expectation of a quick fix up and straight into the street. The previous owner had stripped and sanded the car
down and then left it so there was a lot of surface rust to deal with. The thread talking about that is over in the panel and paint section.
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=109369
So after a bit of mucking around I've decided to have the car media blasted but in the meantime I can start playing around with the chassis and
replacing the rotten floor pans.

Nice one Banshee777,
I've read your other post.
If you're still interested in blasting it give Dustless Blasting at Redland bay a call on 1300 304 415. They are at Redland Bay and could put you
onto one of their mobile operators in the Brisbane area. Get the operator to do a test area to see if it works for you. Wet sandblasting shouldn't
warp panels as it is cooled as it goes. To much pressure on weak panels could cause problems though.
Just an idea.

Cheers mate, already on to them.
Finished removing all of the scale today, ready to be sandblasted in a few weeks.

I gave them a call and very nice to talk to but the price was up there which is understandable with them coming to you. I've gone for a cheaper quote
(normal media blasting) as this is just not going to be an uber restoration so can't justify the investment at the moment.....I still have to build
an engine

A bit of work on the chassis while I save the money needed for blasting.
Rust removal on the hat and a can of black over the rear.

Picked up a set of cheap mags and polished the rims and painted them in flat black.
