6v Horns


A silly question, but as Ive converted my 61 ghia to 12V can I still use the two 6V horns or will they burn outor being good old German quality handle the the 12volts?

Yes they can handle the 12V I had one on for years

makes a really great sound

You could run them in series instead of parallel so they only get 6 volts each
but VW horns and any older horns are VERY heavy duty... so they should last a very long time....

I just bought twin 12 volt horns on ebay - under $20 and they are different tones /frequencies .... sound great.... Lee
