Daisy goes for a road trip
Well - we are back from our holidays
Just did 3,200km's over the last couple of weeks.
Everything we wanted from a road trip - camping in State Forrests and eating in some REALLY cool country pubs
A few changes from the original itinerary - here is what we actually did
Carcoar Dam
Mirrool - free camping opposite pub
Mathoura - out at Edwards River (as Ian said)
Logan Pub - free camping out the back of pub
Halls gap - Plantation's Campsite
Echuca - Christies Beach
Rutherford - Doolan's Band
Jingellic - free camping opposite pub
Wee Jasper
Only real change was we were going to stay at Green Lake camp ground near Sea Lake.
What a dive - eaten by flies when we turned up. Amenities were like a scene from a cheap horror film.
Whatever - we just hooked off and ended up at the Logan Pub - and what a find that was
A couple of nights we were camped alone on the Murray and at other campsites a few nights there was 6 or so other campers.
Usually just one or 2 other campsites
The pub food was terrific. A few places didn't open for lunch on Monday or Tuesday - but wasnt hard to find another
Weather was perfect and the T3 didnt miss a beat. Got a tad under 9 km / L which for an auto aint too shabby
Our dog, Karsha, traveled really well. Most of the pubs welcomed her. A few were more than happy for here to come and sit beside us while we ate
inside. We were the only people there.
Didnt see another T3 or kombi - but did find a pub with a great guy serving beers in a great pub at Dooen called Ryan. Anyway - he is another dubber
on here and had just got back from Oldbar

Nice one Barry. Pubs, steak sandwiches, open roads, camping. Nirvana!
