convert early notch to auto?

I have 2 notches, a 65 manual and a 72 auto. my daughter loves the early shape but can only drive autos. is it possible to straight swap the motor/boxes, if not, what would be involved, and has anyone tried. don

Yes the vehicle will then be a '72 and have to comply to ADRs for that year, the '65 body may not meet the requirments.

That is true, it would then be known as the year of the pan, check with your relevant government dept (DMV ) or speak to an engineering signatory .... Would not imagine there being too much issue, a few things come to mind though....bumper bars & collapsible steering column......which you could use from the donor car.

You would also need to graft in the surround about the shifter and rear engine mounts.

Still need to fabricate rear engine mounts.
