Wanted To Buy: 1500 Swing Axle Gearbox
Want it for a conversion in my 1966 beetle for better 4th gear...

bug or notch/sqre? all rare
if u r doing this, maybe go one further and install irs
I can get u the bug stuff cheeap then fit a s/side=plate box.....comments welcome by experts am just suggesting
better handling similar costs
want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

Hi Denver,
I have a 1500 swing axle gearbox in a Baja that I am looking to sell. The gearbox drove well, stayed in all gears. However it will need a new diff.
Someone forgot to install a thrust washer causing the differential side gear to pop out and strip - not good. The box has the short type 1 axles,
tubes and brakes refitted which will keep your wheels inside the guards.
The gearbox is $500, but it comes complete with a Baja with cheetah guards, late model tail lights, sandpiper whale tale, 15"x8" rims, tight front
end. No motor or stinger.
Maybe you could part out......
