Yeah the older Beetle model looks better than this new one - which looks more like a Fiat than a VW to me. That older one still pops up on Ebay occasionally but very expensive.

I wish Lego would do a large scale Golf 1 GTI (40th anniversary this year). Its square, angled shape would be much better suited to Lego blocks than the curvy Beetle.

Or what about a T2 Kombi? This one-off looks about the same scale as the common T1 camper model.

I guess it's basically impossible to do a T2's panoramic curved one-piece windscreen using flat Lego pieces. Whoever made the T2 pickup obviously started with the normal split window kit's design.
