Got the tailgate frame made today.Used VW lock and striker from a Superbug.Made the whole thing from scratch.Used 3mm flat bar for the ends and 40mm RHS for the frame. It opens and closes very nice.Got to skin it now then start on the sides. Also have to close in both back corners.Bought these LED lights which will fit in the bottom corners of the tail gate.

Started fitting the rear guards.Left 20mm clearance between tyre and guard with it sitting on the deck.Still looks OK when up at travelling height.Had some 25mm RHS rolled to form the frame that the guards will be bolted to.Making everything except the engine cradle to be able to be unbolted.

Yes. Got the call yesterday. There were 4 on the pallet. Lucky it was sorted before before it left. Got the extra layer done to stop stones causing star chips

Started to fit the Aero guards today.Pissed off with whoever made them.Idiot cut the lip too short.Normal is leave at least 30mm,but these are 20mm and in places only 15.The VW hole centre is 15mm from the body top edge,so some of these mudguard holes will go past the edge.Rang Boris and let him know.Made this jig up to help.Going to make some bumperettes for the back. This is my first attempt from a VW bumper.

Forgot I had these. Was the reason I used a Beetle bumper to make the short end pieces.Very happy now how the back end will look.

Got my bumper ends back from the chrome plater.Awesome job.Cut the towbar tongue receiver and welded into position.Used the offcut to make a place to store the tongue when not being used.Is in behind where the rear grille will be.
