[FS - QLD] VW type 3 *** SOLD ***
Hi all, too many projects, too little time!
This one is mostly complete, I had it as a daily driver for a while until I got a nice fast back (TLE auto), so this one has been sitting garaged for
~8 years now
1600 twin carb, 3 speed auto 1973.
that's the good, now for the bad, it has plenty of the usual type 3 rust, inner front guards, vent box, top rear corners. Exterior panels mostly
sound, floor pan mostly sound.
Auto was working fine when parked, as were brakes/shocks/suspension etc. Engine was getting tired when parked, few usual VW oil leaks and either a
blown head gasket or possibly a cracked head, I have never pulled the engine to check, exhaust is full of holes!
Please note I have put on some spare tires that hold air to shift the car, so the wheels in the photo's don't go with the car (will have stock
rims)
I would say this car is beyond restoring unless your very keen. It was a good daily driver for me, but needs a heap of rust cut out to restore. So
could be a very extensive project or parts car for someone.
Hoping for $, unsure on the value of type 3's currently? Prefer to sell as a whole, but if there is no interest will look at wrecking it.
FS Brisbane ), Seller Richard, preferred contact PM or email
I can help with delivery if it's in/around Brissy

Hi all,
Still for sale. I would like to hang onto this one, but am just running out of room, and have a list of other VW's I'd also like to restore I'm not
getting time to work on!
If anyone is keen to restore this one, I also have a '71 fasty (dual carb auto). That one has a little more rust and had the nose shortened by an
idiot who decided to cut in on a round about. So body wise is worse than this one, but mechanically is in good condition. It was a strong daily
runner, sat very nicely on the highway, and for an auto was getting ~8.5L/100. It's been sitting for a few years which has not been kind to it, but
still starts/runs/drives fine.
Have yet to get some pics to post up of that one, but can do so if there is interest.
Probably not preferred, but if it comes to it I will look at parting these out also. A sad end, but they will also come to a sad end if they stay in
my back yard anyway.

Some pics of the fasty for those that asked.
Also has wide chrome rims and factory centre console (for auto not manual)
Again not sure on a price, but hoping ~$
Prices negotiable
