That's the difference between France and Oz though.........who of us would happliy climb into a Kombi that's been left in the bush for 40 years without concern?

Really? They basically rebuilt it, not just jumped into it. Anyone, Oz, froggy, Eskimo, who has friends that own a VW parts business and the right tools can do exactly the same. I would have been more impressed seeing him tow that Kombi down the hill with frozen brakes:)

I meant the infestation with redbacks (if you're lucky........) and gwardas or bungarras if you're not.

Replace brakes, chuck in an "untried" motor, (Like you wouldn't have made sure before going up there!), fuel tank, wheels, all lines etc.
No trans replacement after sitting that long... Hmm
Drive down hill with that much rust under it and not have the chassis members break or steering box seize up.
Vey well produced Video, possibly didn't show all of what was done or happened on the way down.
Then agan, it is a Kombi and we ll know that they are surprisingly tough.
Still think its good.
