WTB - NSW, Beetle, preferably 1500.

Looking for an old beetle to restore and turn into a baja bug.

Not too fussed on the quality of the beetle's condition considering I'm looking to do one up as a baja, so most parts will probably be tweaked/changed anyway over time. So "fair" condition is acceptable

Preferred model is 1500 but others are fine, as long as it's not 1303

Preferred price range is around 3000.

If you're willing to part with an old beetle that I can restore, send me an Email, or a PM and we can work something out!

I could be wrong, but I thought you could no longer build a Baja Bug from scratch and get it registered in NSW anymore. Happy to be wrong on this one if someone knows a way to do a new build.

I have a flat winscreeen 1500 '70 beetle in VIC thats 95% complete and was running before i parked it up...
was due for a resto but sits at the end of a que of a couple cars... and might not get around to it anytime soon

has rust in the sills, floorpans, behind running boards and rear valance (but you're cutting that off anyway)
and the bottom left door hinge has seized due to lack of use and looks to have been forced open by previous owner....

Im pretty sure i have a spare door that I can include in the sale....

Ill get you some pics if interested...
please PM me or reply here or ben@dakdakcafe.com

would be looking at around $2-2500 which would allow you to get it home etc too...

cheers, Ben

""" baja bug ""

WHY they went out in the 70s or are you going to move to QLD

the 68 to 70 BUG will appreciate more as a stocker than a Buggy

Can you still purchase the panels ???

I went to a VW workshop in Unaderra the other day and there was one there and the bloke making it explained how to keep it legal!

You just gotta be careful about it :)

That would make a good Baja :tu:

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

i also have a 1500 that would be suitable, no rego, no motor(unless you want one to rebuild), rebuilt gearbox and good running gear,
rust in floors etc, make an offer, in Wagga.
