Did some more hacking and cutting to get 860mm across the back for the quad cam covers also fabricated removable rear deck. Waiting on new panel now.

Fibre glassed on rear guard today a prick of a job doing it from underneath but I had to keep the guard bolted to the bug.
So now the guards are 4" wider than stock, just have to fill in the hole where I cut the Torana lights out.

Also while was playing around I had a thought about the cooling lines to the front, nothing was really jumping out at me going underneath. Then I had a look at the heater tubes the poke out right into the engine bay, but trying to get 1 32 mm pipe in and around would require some serious fabrication.

Then I remembered the hydroflow pipe I bought when we built the house it was put in the slab for heating, rated at 120 deg has a aluminium and 2 poly pipe construction rated at 600 psi and you can bend it into shapes even right angles in 200 mm

So Do think this idea would work??

The problem with the heater tubes being used is the heat from the pipe could produce moisture inside the tunnel which can then lead to rust. I suppose it depends how well insulated that pipe is though but just something to consider.

Yes I think the hydroflow pipe would be fine. Is this the Ensign pipe?

Thanks Guys

Good points to consider I live in the Snowy Mountains so low humidity and maybe a bit of warmth.

The pipe is FlowPex from Sydney at the ends I can crimp on a 90 deg or thread of tail to slip a radiator pipe on can you get 32mm ?? or do I have to step up??

Where would I take out the front??

Thanks in advance

Cheers Kiwi

Hi

You could run the tubing under the car like I did following the chassis bolts, or bring the tubing through the front bulkhead

This is how I did my engine bay widening for the cam covers,

Steve

Thanks Steve

I did my a bit different but I will use the 2 tabs where you cut the rear apron to stop it from rattling.
I finished the rear guard mods and took out the torsion bars to work on the air bags , I like the low look.

Has anyone got any photos of the air bag mount please.

Thanks Kiwi

There are a few pics on my build Kiwiev.I retained the torsion bars, but machined off the inner splines to just turn in the anchor.
