Looking for 8 x Type 3 standard lug bolts (longer thread than beetle lug bolts)
Required because I have installed type 3 rear brakes.

I may be wrong
ive had many Type 3s over the years and dont remember seeing longer wheel bolts
Its does make sense what your saying especially with the later 2 piece rear hubs and drums
Good luck with your search
I suggest that you remove one hub and drum then fit a wheel with a Beetle wheel bolt or what ever you have and see how far it protrudes through
Safety length would be 1 1/2 threads protruding
I have a box of wheel bolts and will check them to see if any are different

Part number is 251 601 139 M14 x 19mm
They are the same for 12v Beetle and T3 Kombi.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

You could also buy the screw in M14 studs that Nice Products sell and then use Kombi wheels nuts, much easier when changing wheels

I have run Type 3 rear drums (4 x 130mm) for many years without issue using the original Beetle wheel bolts which are 37mm long overall and have a
17mm head. I always tighten the bolts with a torque wrench
HOWEVER I just checked as Dave suggested to the OP and found that the bolts only just protrude through the back of the hub when done up tight but not
torqued. Definitely not 1 1/2 threads protruding! And that is with OE drums!
Now to add to the problem, my new Brazilian drums (a brand recommended to me as being good quality) are around 6mm thick on the wheel face (OE are
around 3mm thick)
So I strongly suspect (and hope) Type 3 wheel bolts will be longer than Beetle ones. Watching this thread with interest!

There is only one part number listed on ETKA,
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Interesting. My Type 3 brakes are on a '68, however the OP didn't specify what year he wanted the wheel bolts for. Maybe wide 5 are different?

Early wide type 3 brakes use same bolts as earlier beetle, as fitted to my KG. Aftermarket wheels may need longer bolts or stud and nuts. Later had
larger dia bolts.

Thanks Guys for replies
I have new drums put on and they are the thicker type as hullbyvw suggested.
I am running after market sunraysia type wheels with 6mm metal plates and standard beetle bolts do not give good purchase, only 3-4 full turns where
as standard wheels take 7-8 turns.
I boought some bolts from Lugnuts Aust that were longer but they only have 17mm heads (later VW lugnuts I think) and they are 2mm diam smaller than
original bolts at the head of the rounded area (therefore less purchase on the wheel
See photos attached and you can see the wheels I have on the car, the difference in the purchase of the nuts on the wheels, the difference in the
lengths of the bolts and the position the bolt would would purchase on the hub. I would much prefer the bolt extended out past the back of the hub
for more strength.

You need to find out what the taper is on the wheels first. Those two bolts have different tapers.
