Vale, Grahame Rumballe
Hi all just learned re Grahame's passing last November and have asked his wife Ingrid if its ok to let all his longtime dubber friends know, so I
quote her words for the gentleman he was and remains in our community..
''Last year was not an easy year for us. Grahame struggled, but Grahame being Grahame enjoyed life to the end.
With Covid and all the restrictions, I was still able to get our sons Jared & Travis over from Perth to be with their Dad myself and our daughter
Bree as he took his last breath.
Even though we were prepared for this it was not easy and I must say if death can be beautiful Grahame's was. We all hugged him and spoke to him as
he took his last breath.
I do not know if the vwdubber community have been informed. You can do so if you wish.
It was Grahame & my request that nothing be put on facebook re his passing.
I often sat on the back deck with him having morning tea and listening to phone calls he received often passing on his knowledge to the recipient and
repairing their cars or assisting with their problems and I thought it is not right that all that knowledge he had will one day not be there.
I am sure and know he will be sorely missed in the VW community.
His love for VW's started when we bought our first Kombi in London in 1973 and toured England, Wales. Scotland and Europe in it. What a wonderful
time we had and on our return to Australia we bought another Kombi which we kept until 2020.
Thank you and my regards
Ingrid''
Condolences all round for all of this good, kind mentor's greater family.

Craigs editorial in VWMA as a eulogy of sorts was quite nice. Hill climb weekends have been missing his presence and rather un-phased approach to the
minor bugs experienced at events.
