swaybars on a beetle(aftermarket)
OK,who has them on there car,what brand and what size,and front only or front and back.im doing the reseach now ive got the stuff from Jeff Unwins and
Greg Wards articles now i need to know what the rest of you are wearing.PS all opinions welcome and its to go on a linkpin swingaxle beetle with a
camber compensater. |

hi i used to have a pedders 17mm on the front and 17mm on the back of my swing axle 1500 with the camber compensator removed. now that its IRS same
bar up front and 23mm whiteline bar at the back.
totally awesome

How did you go with the swingaxle? It should have thrown your geometry out to the max and caused massive oversteer, but I admit I've never
actually tried it. Also - where'd you buy the bars, was it local?

yeah maybe oversteer a little but a vast improvement. i would never have another beetle without them.
the bars i bought you can get from PEDDERS
many different sizes and some are adjustable

I have swaingaxle car with whiteline adjustables front and rear and and really like them but they do take a bit of setting up. The fitting kits were
shit though missing a heap of stuff but pedders had all the missing bits. |

what would u use for a ball joint beetle with IRS? is it the same for swing axle?:thumb

the swing axle/IRS bars are different. there are different ones you can get in terms of street or race( circuit) size. these are adjustable and i can
highly recommend them whether the car is used for performance or a daily driver, just makes the car feel way more secure, especially roundabouts

Just wanted to find out a little more on the logistics side of things when you dealt with Pedders (sorry if this is an ignorant question) did they
have these in a standard/stock item but just with heavier bar i.e a particular part number or did they have to fit a custom bar, what was the process
you had to go through. I ask this as my car is in bits and pieces (body of resto) and I will want to attach sway bars on before the car will be back
on the road, is this possible, or do I need to bring the car in???
Any advice will be great.

blup 58,wait until your cars back together swaybars just bolt on,drive in wobbly drive out F1 style,i think i would prefer (Whiteline/Selbeys) for the
bars,look up the Whiteline websight very interesting. |

hi Brad yeah just go and ask them about it and see whats available now. the bars should be readily available and just put them on yourself
as for the type of bar Pedders sell whiteline as thats what my rear is and i got it from pedders although many years ago
